The Communications Channel or COMM is a location-based chat feature that can be filtered to Faction-only or Cross-Faction chat. Given the rivalry between Factions, some chat interactions that seem harmless to one person may be perceived differently by others.
If you don't want to see chat messages from a specific Agent, use the BLOCK feature in COMM to prevent that Agent from communicating with you:
- You will not see the blocked Agent's messages on any COMM tabs.
- You will not receive system notifications of @messages from the blocked Agent.
- You will still see automatically-generated messages of this Agent's activity (for example, "GPC2C destroyed the Link…").
- Blocked Agents will still be able to see your messages and Portal activity in COMM.
To block an Agent from communicating with you in COMM, follow these steps:
- Open COMM by swiping the Main menu button right.
- Tap the Agent's codename you want to block.
- Tap "Block Agent in COMM."
To unblock an Agent, follow these steps:
- Open the Ingress Settings menu.
- Scroll to the "Blocked Agents" section and tap "Manage."
- Tap "Unblock."
